From Horizon Zero Dawnto Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare to a new Spider-Man game to a host of VR games, Sony didn't stop throwing punches. ![]() These ranged from cinematic trailers to gameplay footage to tiny teasers, but whatever it was they were showing, at least it was the games. They didn't slow down the pace by having to introduce the makers of each game, either, they just showed what we are all wanting to see: Video games. Instead of bogging down the conference with scripted interviews or boring documentaries, they gave us video games. This is the number one thing Sony did right Monday night. I think it's good that an event like E3 can acknowledge the shooting and at the same time say "You know what, we are still going to celebrate the joy of gaming!" But it was a nice thing to do given the extent of the tragedy in Orlando. Many of the E3 conferences did this, so this doesn't set Sony apart.
